MdR Prize Tourney

Location: Ord Military Boy Scout Hut on the former Ft. Ord. 4243 Gigling Road, Seaside, CA 93955

Site Information: Site opens at 10am, armour inspection to begin at 11, fighting at noon.
Site fee: $5 for ages 12 and up, free for 11 and under

Montagne du Roi invites one and all to shake off the cold of winter in a fun-filled tournament to determine MdR's Champion. One and all are welcome and there will be prizes handed out to the overall winner and the entrant from MdR who goes the furthest (and is, therefore, proclaimed our Champion), as well as to others as the whim takes us. This will also be a drop-off point for the Kingdom Estrella truck so come get'cher gear. And hey, get your armour from the truck and just put it on right there for more fun and fighting!

We will, as usual, have hot soup and bread for all attendees, as well as hot and cold beverages.

Directions: Make your way to Hwy 1 between Seaside and Marina and take the CSUMB/Main Entrance/Ord Military Community/Lightfighter Blvd exit (these are all the same exit, but which sign you notice will determine which one the exit is called). Turn right onto General Jim Moore Blvd. Turn right onto Gigling Rd. You'll pass the Scout hut on your right, pull in at the next driveway into the parking lot.

White Shield Tournament and Feast

Site fee: Site Fee No Feast, $5 for members $8 for non members, Children 5 and under are free. Site Fee with Feast, $15 for members $18 for Non Members Please make checks payable to SCA, Inc.- Darkwood.

Their Excellencies Juan and Rose invite all to join them at the Barony of Darkwood's 24th White Shield Tournament and Feast. Come join us as the Tournament Season begins! Heavy and Rapier and Youth Tournaments will once again be held to determine our White Shield Champions! Come for the fighting and stay for the feast prepared by Alfar Utherson!

And don't forget the traditional opening melee: The Bar Room Brawl, taking place on both the heavy and rapier fields. Put together your silliest, SCA-legal barroom weapon. In the past, we've had "bottles", wooden serving trays (bucklers), coat racks, and more! Get creative!

Directions: From the North – Go south onn Hwy 101 to Hwy 25. Take Hwy 25 to Hwy 156, turn right and follow Hwy 156 to Union Rd. Turn left onto Union Rd. Turn right on Airline Hwy. Go through Tres Pinos to the fairgrounds. Use second entry. From the South – Go North on Hwy 101, exit Hwy 156 – Sa San Juan Bautista/Hollister. Follow hwy 156 to Union Rd, turn right. Turn right on Airline Hwy and follow to the fairground. From the East ā€“ From Hwy 5, take Hwy 152 West – Hollister/Monterey exit. Turn left onto Hwy 156 E – Hollister exit. Follow Hwy 156 to Union Rd, turn left. At Airline Hwy, turn right and follow to fairgrounds
